Laila at four months*

Laila weighs 15 pounds, 5 ounces (more than one stone! just under 7 kg!), and measures 25 inches (63.5 cm); her cranial circumference is 41cm. Compare to her three-month checkup (and two-months, and one-month, and at birth). She received vaccinations for Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (DPaT); Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib); and Polio (IPV), same as at the one-month visit.

Until 35

The new crib will last Laila until she measures 35 inches stem to stern. That's only another ten inches! It should take about three more years, though, for her to reach this length.

She filled out the bassinet in about three months!
Laila Louise's middle name comes from her maternal great-grandmother, Louise Lyon.

Today is the 95th anniversary of her birth: Happy birthday, Mimi! Laila shares the middle name with her mother, Anna Louise.

Laila rolls over

Laila rolling over
Laila rolled over, finally figuring out that her arms are no match for her rotational acceleration. She was playing on her activity mat (more photographs of that past-time), which she inherited from Matthew, and looking at herself in the fabric-wrapped mirror. She rolled on to her stomach, seemed somewhat surprised, and then sucked her thumb for a moment before rolling on to her back.
